Category B Learning stages

THEORY

Immediately after registration, you will be given access to an online learning platform where you can start the theoretical course for category B. The duration of the online driving course is 28 academic hours, but your learning pace can be adapted to your needs. If you wish, you can complete the category B course on an accelerated basis in just a few days. After successfully completing the online driving course, you will be able to take the exams at the Transpordiamet without having to take the exams at our driving school.

DRIVING COURSE

Choose your instructor from our selection and adapt the curriculum to your schedule. We recommend that you take the driving course in parallel with the theory course to ensure a complete and effective training experience. Our category B driving course is 28 academic hours. With a lot of will and commitment, you can complete our driving course in 4 weeks. After successfully completing the course, you will be able to sit the exams at the Transpordiamet without the need to complete the category B exams at the driving school.

FIRST AID TRAINING

In our category B first aid training, you will acquire the knowledge and practical skills you need to administer first aid in a variety of everyday situations. The total duration of the training is 16 hours, with the theoretical part taking place online, allowing flexibility in your learning process, and the practical part taking place in an interactive classroom where you can practice situations in real-life conditions under the guidance of experienced instructors.

SLIPPERY DRIVING

Our category B risk avoidance training on slippery roads gives you the skills and knowledge you need to drive safely in slippery conditions. The training lasts 2 hours and takes place at LaitseRallyPark. If you wish, we can also arrange transport to and from the Laagri Hesburger.

NIGHT-TIME DRIVING

Our category B night-time driving course will give you the knowledge and skills you need to understand the risks associated with the absence of light and make safe decisions. The learning process lasts 45 minutes and takes place in real-life conditions or in a simulator, located at Mustamäe tee 4.

What driving licenses can I get?

Limited driving license

Category B licences allow 16 and 17 year olds to drive, but with limited driving rights. To enrol on the course, applicants must be at least 15 and a half years old. You can only drive a vehicle with a limited driving licence if you are accompanied by a parent or a legal guardian who has held a valid category B licence for at least 2 years and is not under the influence of alcohol. A restricted driving licence is valid only within Estonia.

First driver’s license

To obtain your first driving licence, you can take the test 3 months before your 18th birthday, but the licence will only be issued after your 18th birthday. The initial licence is valid for 2 years. Persons with less than 2 years’ experience may drive at speeds of up to 90 km/h and must display a green maple leaf sign on their vehicle.

Primary driving license

After the expiry of the period of validity of the first driving licence, a full licence can be obtained by completing the ‘Final stage’ course. If you have broken any traffic rules in the last 12 months, you will also have to retake the theory test. The full licence will be valid for 10 years and speed limits are now defined only in the traffic rules and not by a green maple leaf sign.
